Nominated Again!

On top of the awards chosen by Macworld staff, there’s also three ‘Readers’ Awards’ which are decided by public voting: Best Hardware (Non-Apple), Best Reseller and Best Software. Thanks to user votes, we were also nominated for a Readers’ Award for Best Software last year (though we were pipped to the post in both categories) and we’d love to earn a second nomination this time around too!
If you wish to nominate RapidWeaver for a Readers’ Award for Best Software, simply visit the Macworld nominations page and place your vote!
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 12th of June.
The Unveiling of Secrets

Earlier this week, we allowed the first public build of RapidWeaver to leave Realmac HQ - and let Ars Technica's David Chartier take an exclusive first-look at just some of the new features in RapidWeaver 4.
Of course, it would be cruel to offer up a preview of RapidWeaver 4.0, yet not allow users to apply to beta-test it! So, we're also pleased to announce that we're looking for a few thrill-seekers ready to put the application through its paces in our private beta test which will start later this month. All the details for this can be found within the Ars Technica post.
The open ‘XML Bundle’ file format in RapidWeaver 4 is a feature we’re really excited to be able to offer our users and other developers. If you’re a developer interested in exploring uses for the file format, please get in touch with us for further information.
As we get closer to the final launch of RapidWeaver 4, we’ll be sharing a few more details with you - so stay tuned, and if you like what you see of RapidWeaver 4, be sure to Digg it!
New Foundations
Needless to say, we've working on this issue and after a brief testing phase, we're pleased to release RapidWeaver 3.6.7 for all users. The only fix in this release is for Tiger users, however we recommend that everyone runs version 3.6.7 - you can grab your download here.
With the release of 3.6.7, we're of course now prioritising the launch of RapidWeaver 4. So what's the state of play with 4? Here's a brief recap of the details to date.

We'll be releasing further details shortly, including a form asking for beta testers, so be sure to sign up for our newsletter to find out all the latest news.
RapidWeaver 3.6.6 is out now!
As we mentioned in our last blog post, we've been busy on RapidWeaver 4.0, however we've also working hard to fix some minor issues with RapidWeaver 3.6.5. Today, we're pleased to announce that RapidWeaver 3.6.6 is now out. In this update, we've resolved issues with Image Normalisation, Page-Specific Theme .plist files, Movie playback and a much-improved export speed. This is a free update for all registered users of RapidWeaver 3.6.x and we strongly advise all customers (on both Leopard and Tiger) to update to this new version. You can grab it on our downloads page. Happy Weaving!
News from HQ
For those of you using Tiger, rest assured: RapidWeaver 3.6 is still being worked on. In fact, we're getting ready to release a maintenance release (version 3.6.6) in the very near future. RapidWeaver 3.6.6 has seen a major improvement in export speeds, particularly noticeable on large sites, so stay tuned for more on that soon!
The main item that's piquing people's interest is, of course, RapidWeaver 4.0. Despite rumours au contraire, currently no-one outside of Realmac has been testing RapidWeaver 4.0 as we're still busy working on some of the fundamental changes that are going into 4.0. We will, however, leave you with this tidbit: we are going to be expanding the testing soon, and you'll be able to find out more in our April newsletter.
RapidWeaver 3.6.5 Out Now!
It's been a little over 2 weeks since Mac OS X Leopard came out, and we've been working hard to fix the niggling issues with RapidWeaver 3.6.4 & the new big-cat. Astute users may have noticed we've been releasing alpha builds of RapidWeaver 3.6.5 (to fix Leopard issues) on our forums, but today we're pleased to announce that RapidWeaver 3.6.5 is now out of testing and available for public consumption!
This update is recommended for everyone, including OS X 10.4 Tiger users. You can grab it on our downloads page. Happy Weaving!
Hello Leopard!
Now that Leopard is finally out I can tell you a little more about RapidWeaver 4.0. We plan to release it before the end of the year and it will be a free upgrade for all 3.6 users.
Enough of the boring stuff here's the shiny new RapidWeaver icon in Leopard:
And even more importantly here's the new UI. It now looks and works great under Leopard and is resolution independent. Please note, this screenshot does not represent the final shipping version.

In the coming weeks I'll be posting more details on what else is new in version 4.0. Stay tuned!
Update: Some users are reporting some very minor issues with 3.6.4 under Leopard, we're currently looking into these reports and will issue an update within the next few days.

RapidWeaver 3.7 in development
And now for the really exciting news – We've already started work on RapidWeaver 3.7, yes, that's right version 3.7!
RapidWeaver 3.7 is going to be Leopard only. And boy, is it going to be good!

I can already hear the cries of "Nooo, I'm not ready to upgrade to Leopard!"
Don't Panic! We're still going to sell and support RapidWeaver 3.6.x even after Leopard ships.
You're probably thinking, "Okay, so how much is this new whizzy upgrade going to cost me?" Nothing, nil, gratis, zilch. It's a free upgrade for all users of version 3.6 - Yes, totally free!
We're planning on releasing version 3.7 at the same time as Leopard. But seeing as Apple haven't announced an exact release date yet, the best timeframe we can give is sometime in October.
You can expect more development news on RapidWeaver 3.7 very soon.

iPhone RapidWeaver Theme
This theme is perfect for sites that are intended to be viewed only on the iPhone. It features a smooth minimalist design and a semi-transparent sidebar that slides in when needed.

The final iPhone theme will be included as standard in RapidWeaver 3.6.2, due out early next month. However, you can download the iPhone theme (beta) today – It's only in beta as it hasn't been tested on a real iPhone.
If you want to take a look at how your site might look like on the iPhone, I'd recommend using iPhoney.
And if you're lucky enough to have an iPhone you should head over to the Goodies section on our site and grab yourself some iPhone sized desktop images. Enjoy!
We want to make you happy
We're doing the best we can to resolve each and every issue. If you don't get an instant reply to your support email don't worry, we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
As you can imagine we're a little snowed under right now with email, so it may take up to 48 hours for us to get back to you. Hang in there!
Here's a few of your questions answered in a Q and A style:
Q: I only just purchased RapidWeaver 3.5, do I have to pay for the upgrade?
A: Don't worry, anyone who purchased a full priced copy of RapidWeaver 3.5 on or after April 1st 2007, is entitled to a free upgrade.
Q: Will I have to pay for each point upgrade now?
A: Nope, the next paid upgrade will be RapidWeaver 4.0, and that's more than a year away. In the meantime you'll get plenty of free upgrades, such as the next version that will take advantage of Leopard!
Q: Help, my serial number doesn't work!
A: We've had quite a few of these, in most cases it appears the serial number is not being entered correctly. Please try entering it again, exactly as it appears. If it still doesn't work, simply drop us an email and we'll fix it for you.
Q: Your contact form isn't working?
A: This is simply down to the load on the server. We've had far more visitors and interest than expected, things should settle down in the next few days.
If you have anymore more questions, please feel free to drop me an e-mail and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I'm also happy to answer any questions posted in the comments area of this post.
We are Realmac Software. We want to make you happy.
